Sound Transit’s 1 Line trains were delayed for hours Tuesday evening because of a vehicle on the tracks at Mount Baker Station.
That disruption around 6:15 p.m. included a suspension of 1 Line service from Stadium Station to Othello Station, just before first pitch of the Seattle Mariners game against the New York Mets, according to the agency.
“Yes, there is a motor vehicle on the track,” Sound Transit spokesperson Amy Enbysk said.
Mount Baker Station is elevated 35 feet above ground level, suggesting the car drove on the tracks for a while before coming to a halt on the platform.
