Sound Transit’s plan to fix a damaged light rail power line at University of Washington Station this weekend has been thwarted by a new crop of operating breakdowns that made the repair work too big of a gamble.
The agency announced Thursday that out of prudence, it would postpone the needed fix. Officials didn’t want to take any chances that signal malfunctions this week, which delayed trains by 35 minutes, would reemerge, and make work zone delays in North Seattle even worse.
