Light rail riders on the 2 Line across Lake Washington were stuck and service to and from the Eastside shut down for about 45 minutes Monday morning, after a loss of electric power that propels the trains.

A two-car, eastbound train carrying 21 passengers stalled just before reaching Mercer Island, on an elevated span of I-90. Those riders stayed aboard until power was restored, said spokesperson Henry Bendon. The shutdown began at 9:27 a.m. and full service returned at 10:18 a.m.
